Columbia Neurofeedback Center -
Audio Visual Entrainment

Audio Visual Entrainment (AVE) is a treatment for increasing or decreasing arousal levels of the Central Nervous System through light and sound stimulation. The client is asked to wear special glasses and earphones, which produce light and sound patterns at certain frequencies. These patterns lead the brain to a desired corresponding frequency. This training has been shown to be very helpful in inducing a relaxed, passive attention, as well as promising results with ADHD, anxiety-based symptoms, sleep disorders, seasonal affective disorders, autistic spectrum disorders, chronic pain, and fibromyalgia. This treatment can be used in conjunction with traditional Western medicine as well as other complementary or alternative treatments. For more information on research with this technology, check out Mind Alive Inc.

Clients may purchase an audio visual entrainment device directly from Columbia Neurofeedback Center for 10% off the prices indicated on the Mind Alive website.  Some units are also available to rent (see Forms & Fees page).
